If you’ve visited OLM before, there’s a good chance you’ve already met her.
Astrid is one half of the hosting duo. You’ll find her at the reception, catching up with the team, or exactly where she’s needed most.
She organises, makes decisions, looks after things – and never loses that personal touch. Approachable, warm, and with a fine instinct for people.
“Over the years I’ve worked in various hotels and got to know many different concepts along the way. I ended up at OLM because the idea behind it won me over straight away. It’s genuinely the first place where I thought: I’d book a holiday here myself without a second thought. The focus on sustainability, a connection to nature, and mindful experiences spoke to me from the very beginning.
I also love that guests have a great deal of freedom in how they spend their time. There’s plenty on offer, but none of it is obligatory – that relaxed sense of freedom, without any pressure, is something I find truly valuable. You can feel it beautifully in the dinner concept, for instance.
I identify very strongly with OLM – perhaps because I love being active outdoors myself, and value quiet just as much as special experiences.
The only downside? Finding another ‘OLM’ for my own holidays is going to be quite the challenge.”
True love, without question. You can’t buy happiness – but sharing it makes it twice as good.
Probably the owl’s gift of turning its head nearly all the way round. That would come in rather handy sometimes – and I’m curious by nature anyway.
I always place my coffee cup beside the saucer instead of on it. Why exactly? No idea – but at this point it’s simply part of who I am. Never mind, everyone’s allowed to be a little different. I actually find that quite endearing.
The route from Toblach to Cortina – ideally on a gravel bike. I’ve been riding gravel since last year and what I love most about this route is the perfect blend of movement, nature, and breathtaking views. In winter, it’s also one of my absolute favourites on cross-country skis.
The Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland, and of course the Mad Hatter. Alice was my heroine as a child and continues to inspire me to this day – perhaps to always hold on to a little bit of imagination and a touch of the wonderfully absurd.
Glimpses like these are one thing.
Experiencing it for yourself is quite another.
Do it the OLM way.
